What is the music played at the Celtic Woman show before the girls go onstage and during intermission?

October 312009

Show was October 25th in Charlotte, NC at the Ovens Auditorium. It may be a group called ‘Clannad’, but I’m not sure.

I haven’t seen the show but what are the lyrics that you remember in the song?

Whats proper to assume from the message of this review?

Rudy G doesn’t quite take hip-hop to the next level on High Society, though he does prove to be an all-around solid talent throughout this 15-track disc. More familiar-sounding than futuristic, this Albany Park rep keeps it traditional atop a set of mostly synthy beats. With his cool and concise delivery, Rudy G takes on a mix of standard rap subjects, including weed anthems (”So-Hi”), perseverance (”Sleep”), and swatting away the haters (”Game Ova”). Dennis DiBlasio, an alumnus of the late Maynard Ferguson’s band, is both an accomplished baritone saxophonist and composer/arranger (bio at http://www.denisdiblasio.com/bio.html ). The late Gerry Mulligan was also a composer (he wrote tunes for Miles Davis’ classic "Birth of the Cool"), arranger, and baritone saxophonist (bio at http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Delta/1724/bio2.html#overview )
While not as well known as Mulligan, the late Serge Chaloff (the baritone saxophonist from the Woody Herman "Four Brothers") was a fine baritone saxophonist (sounds a lot like Bird on bari; he is the father of the modern jazz baritone sax) who also did some composing; each of the three recordings he made as a leader ("Blue Serge", "The Fable of Mabel", and the Stan Kenton produced "Boston Blow-Up!") feature at least one tune he wrote. How do I find a music publisher who deals in music for film in scotland?

October 312009

Posted in music | 1 Comment »

I am looking for a music publisher specialising in publishing music for film and also film and production companies who may be looking for musicians to write music for their films. Can anyone offer any advice on how to go about this? Thanks.

The only thing I know that may come even remotely close to what you’re asking is www.extrememusic.com. Check their website for more details and if that’s even what you need. Good luck.

Contemporary dance songs kind of like Folk music.?

October 312009

Like the acoustic , mellow, Folk like stuff that people make fun of. That is a quote that my dance teacher said and I love the music she listens to and dances to so if you know any please tell me!

Do you mean the old stuff or the new stuff? Do you mean American Folk? How about that Autum Leaves are Brown or anything else by the Mama’s and Papa’s. Singer Eddie Brickell is cool to me too. Hope that helps. Yeah, I agree… Peter Paul and Mary.

Name all the war movies released after 1990 that contained celtic music.?

October 282009

I remember there was a war movie, i think american war of independence or the civil war. It had a haunting celtic music. What is the name of that movie ?
The war that the movie depicted was an old war. Probably the war occurred in the 18th or the 19th century. The only thing that i remember about the movie was its brilliant celtic score. There was just one instance in the movie where this score was played. And it is not Braveheart.

To me, the only film that I recall would be the "The Last of the Mohicans" (1992 - French and Indian War). However, the entire score had a Celtic ‘feel’ to it.
