What is some good classical music I should listen to while studying?

February 172010

While studying or doing some homework, I personally like to listen to some classical music. What are your reccommendations?

BQ 1: Do you think it is okay to listen to classical music while doing homework or studying?
BQ 2: Some people say to me that listening to classical music is only for ”older people”, do you think this is true?

Great ! I suggest light airy Mozart chamber music because something with big sound distracts more than helps. Did you know there are studies that babies increase their thinking process listening to mozart?
I believe those who peg classical music as an old persons thing have been indoctrinated by the Nickelodeon and music channels.
I am an 80 year old who plays and conducts his own music. My students are famous worldwide and they are not old folks.

    good tchaikovsky or vivaldi always helps…

    classical music is perfectly fine while doing homework/studying…my friend did a science fair experiment on that and it showed that classical music helps!!!

    classical music is not only for older people; younger people, like little kids and even young teenagers love listening to classical — that is, if they hadn’t heard pop/rock/rap/hip-hop first!!! (;

    Classical music is for everyone, and makes excellent background music to stimulate your mind while you’re studying. Try something not too intrusive .. maybe some solo piano … something like Fiona Laskaris’s "Herald of the Morning", "The White Egret" and "Windless Sky".

    i do the same!! I’m 14 and i like listening to classical music. I would recommend pieces from Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Johann Sebastian Bach. Actually listening to classical music makes you smarter, this is what we call "Mozart Effect." It says there that listening to Mozart’s music may induce a short-term improvement on the performance of certain kinds of mental tasks known as "spatial-temporal reasoning;" so I absolutely advice you to listen to more classical songs and don’t mind those people who can’t appreciate songs like that. We all have different tastes.
