True folk songs are NOT “written.” I think you are misusing the term “folk song.” Folk songs are songs of the people and are therefore NOT composed. Rather, they are transmitted by word of mouth from generation to generation. In fact, folk songs are the exact OPPOSITE of composed/commercial/classical pieces. Your song is not a folk song.
