At the end of the day, if you don’t hear Music then you don’t know what to buy! I kind of feel cheated out of listening to music because of GREED. but at the moment, that is the way of the world. Good luck everyone.

  2. lyricol Says:

    I agree with you …
I agree with you that you are promoting artists but it’s all about royalties if any one could play artists songs to the public then the radio stations could also and this would cause a big reduction in the artists yearly royalty cheque not to mention adverts on the telly, it’s kind of a where to draw the line issue

  3. solarmist Says:

    Check out the …
Check out the official Judas Priest You Tube Channel, these lads are from Birmingham & you can’t play some of their Video’s because of copyright? It’s their channel for heavens sake, how sad is that, lol.

PRS you have not got a clue have you, you are killing music.

  4. solarmist Says:

    I’m not allowed to …
I’m not allowed to play the radio at work because of the so called PRS, now You Tube at home!!! I only hope the Artists are happy that their music is basically NOT HEARD by the general publc!!!

Ten out of Ten for this Video ellaskins, it needed to be said..

Ironically, I’ll bet the comments on this Vid just goes right over their heads, ignorant s!!!

    PRS are being …
PRS are being stupid in my opinion, PRS aren’t suddenly saying they should distribute money to artists, they did it last year, youtube paid, PRS let them host music. they are saying they need MORE money, which youtube isn’t prepared to pay, so all you end up with is PRS getting NO money, video’s of music being put up quicker than youtube can remove them and the vast majority of users being denied a service

    this so annoying …
this so annoying even when we do our own remixs they take them off we had a mashup by DJ Malcolm b33 it was removed by the WMG

  7. Maxsdiscos Says:

    The WMG have been …
The WMG have been muting tracks, as they hold the licence for it.

    You tube took the …
You tube took the videos down not PRS.You tube is owned by google. One of the biggest corporates in the world.
PRS is not a company it’s a non profit making society where 90% of PRS members earn under 5k a year. Who’s got too much money? Who’s being fooled. – you bag!

  9. ellisnjones Says:

    YouTube make their …
YouTube make their money from content. Lots of it. A large proportion of this money is coming from music videos. If a music video is played a million times on YouTube, who deserves the money – the website who host it, or the person/people who actually did the hard work and wrote the thing?!

The PRS are NOT some massive company like EMI, Universal or Sony. They represent songwriters and performers, including those who are unsigned or on indie labels. People who actually deserve the money.

I 100% agree with what PRS are doing
    I don’t see a problem at all

They PROMOTE music ALL the time

    In my opinion even …
In my opinion even uploading whole tracks onto youtube will promote music. The amount of times ive found tunes on youtube and bought them from a legal site, or on vinyl/CD proves it. Personally i wouldnt download a tune from youtube because the sound quality is pretty bad anyway (you get like a 64k mp3 correct me if im wrong)

Performing Rights Society? More like ing Rude bags!

Thanks to those idiots, I can’t watch any music videos. I hate greedy big music companies. They have too much money.

Darn Tooting ‘J’ – Great point of view well put. I’ve had a couple of mine taken off, absolutely ridiculous, especially as a song I used was from a group not doing so well. Totally correct, we’re (collectively) promoting the bloody music for them on one of the biggest websites in the world for Christs Sake. Nearly got on my soapbox there lol

  14. 7649460 Says:

    if you cant beat …
if you cant beat them, them!

  15. 7649460 Says:

I DO blame PRS, if …
I DO blame PRS, if the record labels and artists were responsible for collecting their own royalties then we wouldnt need PRS. oh apart from the local pub that wants to play music to people when they are having a beer. So PRS are sticking thier cut on top of the royalties the artist recieves, bumping up the costs so much You Tube cant afford to pay it! the PRS!

  16. 7649460 Says:

    PROBLEM SOLVED, USE …
PROBLEM SOLVED, USE A WEB PROXY SOMETHING LIKE hidemyassdotcom. Now yo can watch as many music videos as you want in the UK! the PRS, they just want more and more money so they can take their cut!

    What you said: Amen …
What you said: Amen to that.

  18. DjEphixa Says:

    I love the ability …
I love the ability to go to youtube, type in an artist and a song and hear the track. If I enjoy what I hear I take the next step to look at a myspace or even make a CD or Itunes purchase.

Sure there are people who rip the songs off of youtube for listening. But the songs aren’t in high quality and these people probably wouldn’t of bought the music form the artist anyways.

So much exposure and discovery. I’m for it. Especially since this is one of the ways I promote my own music.

    I think the …
I think the industry has embraced this media to a level for its own use i.e. the ads on most of the youtube channels now! but they do have to be careful or it will just go underground anyway. Ok perhaps the whole track is too much but then again i have watched some old music videos just because i want to hear the song , these were made to promote the song and thats what there doing so…..uuhhhh itsashame…run buy even older men than me i guess

  21. Blaize110 Says:

    I must say that I …
I must say that I am guilty of listening to some tracks on youtube, but recently I have discovered Spotify where you can do the same thing (though you cant download) legally. Hopefully this will reduce the number of people posting music for download and give people who use music constructively in their videos a break!

  22. cornerchap Says:

    i don’t blame PRS; …
i don’t blame PRS; why should people write songs only for them to be freely available on Youtube? I don’t blame youtube either – they surely don’t make huge ad revenue from people watching videos on their websites

    youtube sucks without music though

  23. buzzjunked Says:

    i think learning to …
i think learning to dj is the same as learning to drive a motorcycle , nobody wants to wear the L plates and be seen on a crappy scooter but much respect to those that swallow there pride and do heh

  24. buzzjunked Says:

    as far as im …
as far as im concerned , if you want to make money from copyrighted work , get the licences required that way you contribute i personalty dont see the point in promoting music unless you get payed so dont see the point in tagging tracks but i dont see no wrong in using music for educational purposes for music creation , dj teaching etc if those excerising djing are getting videos pulled its prob cos they have advertising and coming across as not using it for educational purposes i think
